Pat McLaughlin started Midwest Market Management in 1998 with a vision to use his experience in the grain merchandising industry and help producers with their marketing. His goal was to help producers manage risk with the tools available on the Chicago Board of Trade while taking advantage of opportunities in their local cash markets. 

In 2006 Pat was introduced to crop insurance and quickly come to realize the benefits it had to offer. He didn’t view crop insurance as an alternative to his current approach, but as a product that would compliment and enhance his producers efforts to do a better job marketing. In short time, we came to use crop insurance as the foundation of their risk management program, allowing producers to manage both production and marketing risk.
